Phillip Morris
The Last Hurrah - c1924

Small roll of finely cut tobacco leaves wrapped in a cylinder of thin paper. Encased in cardboard. Wrapped in plastic.

Priced at the sum total of pack-a-day smoker’s monthly expenditure, this controversial piece was created to incite just enough outrage to subvert the temptation to ever smoke again. While it has been speculated the piece was commissioned by the tobacco industry, so far the artist has remained reticent.

Limited edition of 11.
